So after my really awesome weigh in on Friday, I was right about the weight fluctuating a wee bit.
It has so far wobbled between the 19st3 and 19st5 mark - which is absolutely fine! I've had a bit of a shaky weekend, I overindulged a little on Friday to kind of reward myself for my good weight loss, and although I ate fairly decently yesterday I did sneak in a couple of cheese toasties as a night time snack! Always a bad idea haha ;)
but today, after band practice, it's straight back to the gym and another hard week of calorie burning and fat melting ahead!!
I'm really hoping that by Friday I can be down to 19st 1 or even 19st!! That would be incredible...
Oh! And also...my jeans are now on their last legs...very close to simply just not fitting anymore - exciting!
At the beginning of 2013 I embarked on a weight loss goal. I began at 21st 11lbs and got all the way down to 17st 11lbs with the intention of going all the way to 15st Unfortunately I've fallen off the wagon...and regained a portion of that weight. I'm not up at 19st 4lbs and quite frankly terrified of the impending fact that it will not get better unless I return to my routine. So here we go again! A new goal, time to smash it!

WEIGH IN DAY NO.11!!
YEAH BUDDY!
Weigh in day! Everyone's favourite day.
Except mine - it's such a daunting thing first thing on a Friday morning!
So yeah, weigh in day number 11!
for 2 and a half months I've now been working out 5 days a week, taking up running, jogging, weight training and other cardio activities. I've been eating a low calorie, non-restrictive diet that I am in complete control of. I'm taking no supplements, no weight loss pills, and I'm ignoring all fad diets and diet myths!
This week's weigh in is......ready for it?
5 and a 1/4 lbs!!!
This means I now weigh 19st 3lbs on the nose!
A total loss so far in 10 weeks of...36lbs! (2 stone 8lbs)
OK. Now even I am shocked at this! Yes, my workouts have been upped big time this week...but still I expected NO MORE than 3lbs this week. 5 and a 1/4 is astonishing!
I'm thinking that with such a big loss it MAY fluctuate over the next few days, possibly rocking up a lb or so...but to be in that general area is absolutely insane. I wanted to get down to 19st by the time I go to Glasgow to play at North of the wall festival - and with that still another 2 weeks away I think I'm WELL on the way to hitting that or even beating it!
Celebrating now with some grilled sausages, boiled eggs and toast :) a high calorie, high protein mini-treat before I head to the gym in the afternoon for another epic workout - finally get to have a workout day off tomorrow though and well deserved!

Night before weigh in day!
So it's gonna be that time again tomorrow - weigh in day number 11!!
I can't believe I've been doing this 2 and half months now.
I think things are slowing down as I get fitter and fitter. I'm expecting a loss of between 2 and 3 lbs tomorrow! I've REALLY ramped up the effort this week though - mostly on the exercise front. I think the diet needs slight improvement but it's still going very very well :)
I'm REALLY hoping for the 3lbs down mark tomorrow, but I think it'll be closer to the 2 and a half mark. Either way it's still a good loss and I'm still on track
Will update the blog tomorrow to let you all know! :)

4 Reasons why my diet is awesome
OK
Some people MAY take this post the wrong way...but seriously, I want you to know these things because the biggest reason my diet works is because it's common knowledge that everyone chooses to ignore because they over think things and make things overly complex.
I also want you to know these things so that you can realise that I've achieved (and continue to achieve) awesome results in this approach - so you can do it too :)
Many of you will argue that Carbs, Fat, Sugar etc ALL play a part in a healthy diet - and you're RIGHT! But what everyone seems to ignore is that reducing your calories for the day REDUCES your OVERALL daily intake of all these things exponentially!
My diet is PURELY calorie controlled, 1700 a day to be precise! as long as I'm under or within my calorie goal for the day - I can have it :) Now...there are obvious rules here in the back of the mind. I wont eat a gigantic pizza everyday and then nothing else. Even though that WOULD technically be within my calories for the day if I sacrificed every meal, it would make me sluggish, lethargic, my metabolism would crash and I'd be hungry at other times of the day.
Remember that in my diet I consume fresh meat, vegetables, fruit and wholegrains mostly every day within my meals - so even though the below list seems unhealthy, it's all just part of the grand design of my diet!
Instead I know I need to eat Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner plus snacks in between...and I balance these things out sensibly so I always stay under my calorie allowance for the day. There are no rules though! So without further ado, this is...
4 Reasons why my diet is awesome:
1. Chocolate is not the enemy. Want to know something crazy? I have chocolate every single day on my diet. EVERY day...not by choice, but because I can. I work it into my snack allowances and I still stay below my calorie goals :) Now...I don't munch an entire bar of galaxy - I probably have a couple of Aero Biscuits a day, or a couple of Club Biscuits or something like that! It means I always get chocolate and I never crave it :)
2. Bacon...ah Bacon, if you don't like bacon there is something really wrong with you. I like Bacon...That's why I have a nice yummy bacon sandwich for breakfast...probably more than 3 times a week! Usually 3 or 4 yummy grilled slices, 2 slices of brown bread, butter and tomato ketchup. YUM! Like I said...I keep it within my calories. If I've had that for breakfast I'm looking at around 500 calories! But no big deal...I just make sure my lunch is light and healthy like fruit or some chicken and vegetables, and then my dinner and snacks are still sitting with a good amount of calories left for them :) Thus I can have Bacon without guilt. YUM! (Note: Like I said, it doesn't MATTER that bacon is greasy and fatty...it's the CALORIES that matter when you want to lose weight! CALORIES!)
3. Bread and Pasta. It's that common theme again. CARBS!! Everyone says KEEP AWAY FROM BREAD! KEEP AWAY FROM PASTA!! It's all CARBS! They will KILL you!!!
WRONG!
I have a good 2 - 4 slices of brown or seeded bread per day, usually a pasta dish a few times a week, and not to mention lots of other yummy things that have plenty of carbs in them! Ignore these stupid fad diet myths. Honestly. If you eat 10 - 15 slices of bread a day, OK, You're gonna have a bad time. But honestly...I've heard far too much crap about AVOID this AVOID that. Keep it sensible, and you can have it!
4. And finally...Butterscotch Angel Delight. My god, isn't it just AMAZING? It's actually heaven! Oh but look out it must be full of SUGAR D: and CARBS D: and bad evil things that make you fat!!!
Yeah...maybeif you have 4 packets a day. This week I've had 3 packets so far, a big bowl in each packet, about 450 calories. It's a REALLY good after-workout lunch food because it has oooodles of protein from all that milk, it tastes AMAZING! And it keeps your metabolism high. OK It may have a good helping of sugar, but who cares? I'm not consuming enough calories in the day or enough sugar in the day for that to make a smidgen of difference. Just make sure you've had a light breakfast and a healthy dinner, and keep your snacks sensible - and it works :)
Please take into account that I go to the gym 5 times a week and incorporate strength training and cardio into my workouts!
So there you have it! Basically what I'm saying is, don't start over thinking and over complicating your diets if you're trying to lose a good bit of weight. It ALL comes down to Calories IN verses Calories OUT...
Please take this post the right way and understand that in summation - Everything in Moderation CAN be consumed.

In pain!
Today my body ACHES!!
Yesterdays gym session was REALLY intense after ramping up the heat. I even completed a 5k on the treadmill doing 50% walking and 50% running - time was around 42 minutes and that was on top of the rest of my workout!
Ah well, when I hit the gym today I'll simply be burning through the pain! I'm itching to get back on that treadmill and start sweating like a beast again!
Feeling like it's gonna be a REALLY good weight loss result this Friday...I'm hoping for a minimum of 3lbs but who knows!
I have a meal out planned for about 2 weeks time and then only a few days later I'll be in Glasgow performing at a metal festival! So naturally alcohol will be involved! I'd ideally like to smash down to 19st before any of these events and make SURE that I hit the gym properly and eat properly in between with no excuses.

Time to ramp it up!
Another quick update for you lot!
Currently trying to shift some dead weight from Saturday night, decided to treat myself to some pizza for all the hard work! It wasn't worth it, it just made me feel like shit. No surprise there! Hopefully I can shift all the dead weight it has added AND some more by Friday's weigh in! Here's hoping anyway :)
I got quite carried away with some running intervals at the gym the other day - it felt awesome as hell though! I'm going to incorporate that into my workout a lot more now. I was doing back to back 1 minute intervals of walking at 3.0mph and running at 6.0mph - covered about 3.4k in 25 minutes :) so that was pretty impressive! Going to maybe try and do the same today but aim to cover 5k! On top of the rest of my workout too that is.
I'm REALLY wanting to try and crash down to 19st in in about 3 weeks. That means losing between 2-3lbs a week solidly for the next 3 weeks. I think It's achievable! It'll take a lot of hard work...
Luckily though I have a lot of free time for the gym now :) Uni is finished for the easter break! So although I have lots of coursework to do and an essay to write etc, I will be upping my workout in the gym by about 30 - 40% I think! Aiming to burn off around 1000 calories each session. This should ensure a dam fine weight loss ;)

Well deserved day off! Or is it?
SATURDAY!
My gym day off! But...it's also the start of a 3 week break from University lectures! I still have a lot of coursework and essays to do etc...but YES!! SOOO much time for more gym sessions and exercise!! I just hope the weather fucking clears up so I can go out running and jogging more!
OH and I just realised I'm not so far away from breaching the 19st mark!! I'm playing a festival in Glasgow in precisely 3 weeks time! and I have 8lbs to lose to get to 19st...do you think I can do it?? I'm sure as hell gonna try ;) that would be pretty epic!!
Anyway, I have band practice today at 1 which should be a fairly good sweaty workout in itself!

WEIGH IN DAY NO.10!!
It's that time again, my FAVOURITE day of the week...well...depending what the scales say that is ;)
I've been pulling some HIGH numbers recently, and I expected today's weigh in to start to slow down a little bit! It has, but it's certainly an admirable result today!
Today's weigh in is...
19st 8lbs and a 1/4! (274 and a 1/4 lbs)
That means I've lost 2 and a half lbs since last weeks weigh in!
Still a really great result over all! I've aimed to lose at LEAST 2lbs a week on this regime, so it's still above target!
Since beginning dieting and exercising on 18th January 2013 I have lost a total of 31 and a half lbs (2 stone 3 and a half lbs)
Still a LOT more to go folks!! I still have 2 stone 1 and 1/4 lbs (29 and a 1/4 lbs) to go before I reach my initial goal of 17st 7lbs (245lbs) and then another 21lbs (stone and a half) after that!!
I had hoped I'd reach the 17st 7lbs mark by my birthday on 19th July, and the way things are going I'm on track to beat that by a LONG way! :)
In fact, if I lose just 2lbs a week from now on - I'll hit that goal on the 5th July ;)...but you're talking to Ricki here...I know I'll do a lot better than that ;)

Slow week
Well it's looking like my slow weekend and slow start to the week may have finally brought around something I was expecting for a while! A low weight loss week!
It's looking like tomorrows weigh in won't be giving me much more than a pound or two. This is still OK in most respects! I think it's just easy to get used to the BIG numbers...then much harder to accept that things inevitably will slow down...
Nevertheless today is another day and another WORKOUT day more than anything ;) time to ramp it up and try and burn off as much as possible and squeeze as much out of tomorrows weigh in as I can!
The main thing here is - progress IS being made, and I am still well on track for my goals :) They key is simply just NOT to give up!

Full throttle!
Its been a crap weekend really! Drinking, not exercising, cars breaking down - not cool!
Luckily i did eat pretty well tho and today i had an AWESOME gym sesh! So its back to full throttle mode!! There is SO much more work to do!! SO much more...and it wont do itself!
I have about 2 stone to go before i hit my birthday goal weight and 4 months to do it in so I'm weeeell on track and even ahead of schedule!
Aiming for 16st to be my final weight...3 and a half stone to go before i hit that though!

Weekend is over - back to the burn!
So it's been a fairly strange weekend
First of all the fantastic weigh in result on Friday!! Absolutely ecstatic about that. Got a good burn out session done on the Friday too AND also got a decent jog/walking session in too! Hoping to try and slowly build up my jogging/running over the next few weeks if the weather permits!
Saturday, gym day off...but I still did some weights and also went on a very ridiculous rainy/windy 45 minute walk (lol)....then Saturday night came....
Ended up going out drinking for my friend Tasha's birthday BUT I avoided the kebab shop curse!! So it was a night out that I got away with mwuhaha!
Today I'm feeling a bit drained though so I'm going to try and fit in some home exercises tonight instead of hitting the gym - extra hard session tomorrow instead is in order!
Time to BURN! :D

WEIGH IN DAY No,9!!
OK Folks!!
It's my faaaavourite day of the week! FRIDAY! Not just because its the start of the weekend (which I pretty much spend just exercising anyway) but because it's weigh in day!
As some of you know I'm hoping that today I can report that I've finally breached the 2 stone lost milestone
My starting weight was 21st11 and 3/4
Well, I can happily tell you all that today's weigh in was...
19st10 and 3/4!!!
That means this week I have finally...
. Dropped below 20st and into the 'teens' again :)
. lost 29lbs so far in total!
. Smashed my 2 stone goal by an extra pound!
. Lost a total of 4 and a half lbs this week
. Am ahead of target by 4 and a 1/4lbs ;)
So an all round fantastic result today!
Now it's time for a shower, late breakfast, Singing lesson, Gym session, then possibly a well deserved morrisons salad bar! haha :P

The day before the dreaded weigh in day D:
Just thought I'd give a quick update as tomorrow is weigh in day number NINE!!
Time flies a lot...more than I think! Sometimes I do think the weeks are going a bit slow...but really, that'll be 2 months I've been on this journey as of tomorrow!
Things are going GREAT! I'm pretty confident that tomorrow I will be able to report a TWO stone loss since beginning this 2 months ago. But I will give you an exact figure tomorrow :)
Today...I cut my workout a little bit short, I've had a thumping headache all day and the gym made me quite light headed and dizzy...I Still got a good half an hours cardio on the bike in though! Plus a good bit of strength training, and a small stint on the crosstrainer before I felt like I was gonna fall off from dizziness...
Hopefully a wee rest today will clear it all up and tomorrow I can post the result I want to post!
My goal was to be 17.5 stone by July 19th...I think anyone can already guess that as long as I stick at it and put in the effort, it's clear I'm going to hit that target a good while before then! I'm still keeping that figure as my target though, there's no point altering goals just because I'm doing well - it could go REALLY bad for a few weeks! Who knows!
Sometimes it's easy to get down on certain days - just due to 'life's stresses' in general. But then I remember how far I've come and how far I'm CONTINUING to go...and it all disappears :)
It might be having an affect on my social life...but I PROMISE you all...when you see me transformed in a few months time, you'll realise it was ALL worth it and it was something I really needed to do.
See you all tomorrow for the weigh in :)
Oh P,S, - Don't be afraid to leave comments on these blogs :) one or two of you had...and my blog has been viewed almost 1000 times since I began! Soooo yeah - you're out there! Comment :D It'll give me some motivation!

Well on the way to another target!
I'm getting VERY excited for this Friday's weigh in!
I should be under 20st and HOPEFULLY I'll even be at my 2 stone lost point as well!!
Again, sorry I haven't updated this every day like I SHOULD be doing - but rest assured, you are not missing out on ANYTHING going on with this diet and exercise mission ;) It's all very much in hand...and I will update you with any major changes or developments haha!

Completely Obsessed
Sorry I haven't been maintaining a DAILY update on the blog, I was doing well with that for a while...but maybe it'll now be a sort of bi-daily thing...or something...
Anyway, things are still FULLY on track and infact I am AHEAD of schedule to hit my target of 17.5 stone for my 25th Birthday on July 19th (Hence the name Challenge 25...smart huh?)
Someone mentioned today that they never thought someone like me would become obsessed with exercise and healthy living (Before I go any further, even though I'd say I was obsessed...I'm obsessed with doing it correctly, I'm not being stupid...I'm eating right and exercising a healthy amount :) )
But yeah...I think I've realised, this is actually the ONLY way to succeed with a large weight loss goal...obsession...
You see all these inspirational videos on youtube, you can watch the biggest loser and other weight loss programs and one thing is clearly evident with those who are successful...they've made it a LARGE chunk of their lives. They've dedicated probably about 75% of their livelihood to diet and exercise...
I really think this is the key. I think obsession and addiction is THE key to success...and you might think that's a little harsh - but - is it not obsession and addiction which LED to the large weight gain in the first place? Addiction to high calorie, fatty, unhealthy foods? obsessed with lazyness, convenience and comfort activities?
To REALLY succeed, you need to FLIP all that on its head...I think this is why this time what I'm doing is truly working wonders for me. I've succeeded once in the past, but im literally a couple of pounds away from breaking even the lowest weight I reached on that attempt with ZERO signs of faltering and increasing motivation every single day...
Currently getting very excited for summer with a new awesome body, awesome clothes I'm gonna buy and generally the COMPLETE transformation :D

WEIGH IN DAY
It's been 7 weeks since I started a strict regime of diet and exercise.
Apart from losing weight, I feel fitter, more alert, healthier, I sleep better, I have TONS of energy and I'm absolutely addicted to the gym and diet...I actually can't imagine my life without it now.
Today's weigh in is once again VERY successful!
This week I have lost almost FOUR pounds, 3 and 3/4 to be exact!
This makes me only 2lbs away from being under 20st again!
To put it in another perspective, I've lost 24lbs! Almost 2 stone :)
Now to celebrate with a bacon sandwich for breakfast! More workouts due very soon ;)

The Addiction Change
The biggest change I think I can take from all of this so far is...
I used to be addicted to lazyness, eating gash food ALL the time etc...
Now I am totally addicted to the gym, to interval training, to being OUTSIDE and ACTIVE! And also addicted to tracking and tracing everyhing that I eat and making sure It's the right stuff with low calories - and it's WORKING
Today I even dropped another belt hole so that's a little mini victory right there!!
It's weigh in day on Friday and I'm hoping for a result of 20st 3lbs (2lb loss this week) so lets see if I can do it or more!

Quick update
Hello readers! (if there are any!)
Haven't updated the blog in a few days, still well on track! I've been hitting up the HIIT (interval training) a lot! and incorporating a lot of walking outside into it too, very excited to see what my weight will be on Friday's weigh in! I'm hoping for a verrrrry good result! (at least 2-3 lbs)
It's my designated gym day off today so I'll be VERY busy with Uni work today, but I'll try and squeeze in some light exercise at some point today!

Time to crank up the BURN!
It's been a VERY hectic and stressful weekend...
Yesterday wasn't an awfully good day for diet and exercise, so today I intend to crank it up! Some of my joints are still a bit sore from spending the whole of Friday helping my friend move flat but I'll just have to power through it!
This week will consist of HIIT (High intensity interval training) and lots of walking!
I also do have a LOT of work I need to do for University over the coming weeks and I must make sure that fits in to my schedule as well, otherwise it's baaaad news for me!
I'm REALLY close to breaking past the 20st mark and back into the 'teens' again so I'm getting pretty excited about the next 2 weeks!
Oh! I also realised its the Easter break from University on the 22nd March, this lasts THREE weeks!! What a MASSIVE opportunity to get in some really tough routines and really blast it! Very exciting :)

WEIGH IN DAY!!!
Ah yes we have hit ANOTHER weigh in day!
It has been about 6 weeks since I decided to take my health and weight seriously and ACTUALLY finish what I start. This week as I've been monitoring my weight gradually it hasn't really budged at all
but today I can happily post a loss of!!!
2.5lbs!!
I'm very happy with this as I was sure I'd hit my plateau this week, but things are FINALLY starting to move downwards again!!!
Celebratory bacon softie for breakfast :)
