4 Reasons why my diet is awesome

OK

Some people MAY take this post the wrong way...but seriously, I want you to know these things because the biggest reason my diet works is because it's common knowledge that everyone chooses to ignore because they over think things and make things overly complex.

I also want you to know these things so that you can realise that I've achieved (and continue to achieve) awesome results in this approach - so you can do it too :)

Many of you will argue that Carbs, Fat, Sugar etc ALL play a part in a healthy diet - and you're RIGHT! But what everyone seems to ignore is that reducing your calories for the day REDUCES your OVERALL daily intake of all these things exponentially!

My diet is PURELY calorie controlled, 1700 a day to be precise! as long as I'm under or within my calorie goal for the day - I can have it :) Now...there are obvious rules here in the back of the mind. I wont eat a gigantic pizza everyday and then nothing else. Even though that WOULD technically be within my calories for the day if I sacrificed every meal, it would make me sluggish, lethargic, my metabolism would crash and I'd be hungry at other times of the day.

Remember that in my diet I consume fresh meat, vegetables, fruit and wholegrains mostly every day within my meals - so even though the below list seems unhealthy, it's all just part of the grand design of my diet!

Instead I know I need to eat Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner plus snacks in between...and I balance these things out sensibly so I always stay under my calorie allowance for the day. There are no rules though! So without further ado, this is...

4 Reasons why my diet is awesome:

1. Chocolate is not the enemy. Want to know something crazy? I have chocolate every single day on my diet. EVERY day...not by choice, but because I can. I work it into my snack allowances and I still stay below my calorie goals :) Now...I don't munch an entire bar of galaxy - I probably have a couple of Aero Biscuits a day, or a couple of Club Biscuits or something like that! It means I always get chocolate and I never crave it :)

2. Bacon...ah Bacon, if you don't like bacon there is something really wrong with you. I like Bacon...That's why I have a nice yummy bacon sandwich for breakfast...probably more than 3 times a week! Usually 3 or 4 yummy grilled slices, 2 slices of brown bread, butter and tomato ketchup. YUM! Like I said...I keep it within my calories. If I've had that for breakfast I'm looking at around 500 calories! But no big deal...I just make sure my lunch is light and healthy like fruit or some chicken and vegetables, and then my dinner and snacks are still sitting with a good amount of calories left for them :) Thus I can have Bacon without guilt. YUM! (Note: Like I said, it doesn't MATTER that bacon is greasy and fatty...it's the CALORIES that matter when you want to lose weight! CALORIES!)

3. Bread and Pasta. It's that common theme again. CARBS!! Everyone says KEEP AWAY FROM BREAD! KEEP AWAY FROM PASTA!! It's all CARBS! They will KILL you!!!

WRONG!

I have a good 2 - 4 slices of brown or seeded bread per day, usually a pasta dish a few times a week, and not to mention lots of other yummy things that have plenty of carbs in them! Ignore these stupid fad diet myths. Honestly. If you eat 10 - 15 slices of bread a day, OK, You're gonna have a bad time. But honestly...I've heard far too much crap about AVOID this AVOID that. Keep it sensible, and you can have it!

4. And finally...Butterscotch Angel Delight. My god, isn't it just AMAZING? It's actually heaven! Oh but look out it must be full of SUGAR D: and CARBS D: and bad evil things that make you fat!!!

Yeah...maybeif you have 4 packets a day. This week I've had 3 packets so far, a big bowl in each packet, about 450 calories. It's a REALLY good after-workout lunch food because it has oooodles of protein from all that milk, it tastes AMAZING! And it keeps your metabolism high. OK It may have a good helping of sugar, but who cares? I'm not consuming enough calories in the day or enough sugar in the day for that to make a smidgen of difference. Just make sure you've had a light breakfast and a healthy dinner, and keep your snacks sensible - and it works :)

Please take into account that I go to the gym 5 times a week and incorporate strength training and cardio into my workouts!

So there you have it! Basically what I'm saying is, don't start over thinking and over complicating your diets if you're trying to lose a good bit of weight. It ALL comes down to Calories IN verses Calories OUT...

Please take this post the right way and understand that in summation - Everything in Moderation CAN be consumed.
