Time to mix things up!

So I'm gonna be going to the gym soon today and I'm wondering what sort of different ways I can mix things up a bit...my workouts do vary quite often, but I feel like there must be a different and new way I can mix things up a bit...

One thing I've been meaning to do this WHOLE time is to add in a good bit more core exercises. If I'm honest, I've found it difficult to do situps etc with my massive stomach in the way (sad face) but now it's a wee bit smaller that could be an option.

I'm also thinking of blasting the rowing machine...I think I'm always subconscious that I'm gonna look stupid on it, but that doesn't really stop me doing all the other machines at the gym.

The fact is I really need to start working the core so I can start toning up my abdominal muscles. This will help pull my stomach in as it loses its fat stores.

The thing that I'm a bit apprehensive about is mixing things up in such a way that I find it difficult to hit my calorie burn goals for the session, the way I do things now I can burn a LOT in a session. Usually a 30 minute warm up on the bike, followed by 15 - 20 minutes strength training, 20 minutes on the cross trainer and about half an hour walk/jog/run on the treadmill - this can burn 1000+ calories for someone of my size and with the intensity levels that I'm putting it at...

Today I might try and alter things by perhaps sticking to the bike warmup...but then going straight to the rowing machine and blasting a session on that, see how I do. Then perhaps do my strength training, cross training and finally treadmill.

Still have to have a think about it though, the running on the treadmill REALLY takes a good bit of the effort, so maybe pushing that forward to straight after the bike might be a sound idea. I guess I'll just have to see how I feel at the time!
